Nommon at SIDs 2023

Nommon attended the SESAR Innovation Days (SIDs) 2023, held in Seville from November 27th to 30th. This event has become a landmark in the European aviation research community, aimed at sharing progress and disseminating ATM research results. Nommon has participated in this congress on many occasions, continually contributing to the advancement of aviation research. In this edition, Ricardo Herranz, Nommon’s CEO, David Mocholí, Director of Aviation, Inés Peirats, Transport Systems Product Manager, Miguel Baena, Aviation Product Manager, Juan Blasco, Aviation Product Manager, and Jerónimo Bueno, Researcher, travelled to Seville to present Nommon’s latest developments on multimodal airport access, urban air mobility (UAM) operations in cities, passenger behaviour analysis, and how big data and artificial intelligence support airport decision-making processes.

Inés Peirats showcased a poster of the project MAIA, which aims to develop a set of data analytics and modelling tools to support the evidence-based design and implementation of multimodal airport access solutions based on two passenger mobility innovations: shared autonomous vehicle fleets and unmanned aerial vehicle fleets.

Miguel Baena presented a poster of the project MUSE, focused on the development of a set of KPIs, methods, and tools to assess the impact of UAM operations on liveability and quality of life in European cities, with an emphasis on drone-generated noise and visual pollution.

Juan Blasco presented the paper “A machine learning approach for predicting airport passenger flows”, part of the research project TravelInt. This project explores how big data and artificial intelligence technologies can be used to enable the detailed analysis of passenger behaviour and support the airport decision-making processes.
