Purpose

Our purpose is to put big data and artificial intelligence at the service of sustainable development.

Sustainable urban development, energy supply, the transition towards a more sustainable mobility system, pollution reduction and climate change mitigation are some of the major challenges faced by humanity in the 21st century. Emerging concepts based on digitalisation and automation, such as the so-called ‘smart mobility’, hold great promise for facing these challenges and moving towards more sustainable development paths, but they are also changing our societies at a much faster pace than we have seen in previous decades. At the same time, the same technologies that are leading to an increasingly changing and uncertain future are producing massive amounts of data about human behaviour with an unprecedented level of detail. In this context, the combination of big data and artificial intelligence opens exciting opportunities to monitor and understand these disruptive changes.
